Most challenging thing about being a superhero:
We are a small department with big responsibilities. Many people count on me to get the supplies to the proper location and on time. This job indirectly effects patient care. I want to always be part of the success of our high patient care levels, so each day I may not know what is coming in at times but I make it my duty to see to it that everyone gets what they need before they need it.
Most rewarding thing about being a superhero:
Sometimes I bring something to a department and the look on my co-workers faces like “Yea they arrived” is a great feeling. I don’t want a lost shipment to be the cause of a lack of progress within the hospital so it’s nice to see I can also make a difference here in my supporting role.
Describe your work environment:
We have a small department with a huge responsibility to ship and receive items. We are team driven and very in sync with the hospital needs. I work hand in hand with my Supervisor and we rely on each other to get the job done.
How does DEBORAH take care of its employees?
I have been here for 20 years, it feels like my outside home. I can not imagine going anywhere else. It really feels great to belong to something so good.
What does “taking the high road” mean to you?
Taking “The High Road” means going the extra mile. It’s a road less traveled because you are always looking to do better for visitors, staff and our patients.
